Европейска EMDR конференция 2011
Dear colleagues,It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the 12th EMDR Europe Conference that will take place in Vienna from June, 3rd to 5th, 2011.
Coming to Vienna means coming to a city where some of the earliest roots of psychotherapy developed, and at the same time coming to a city which in 2002 awarded (with the World Council for Psychotherapy) the International Sigmund Freud Award for distinguished contribution to psychotherapy to Francine Shapiro.
The special conference structureThe coming conference will have several unique features that have never been seen before in EMDR Europe conferences, and we believe will make your participation a unique experience.
The EMDR Europe board has decided that the Vienna 2011 Conference will be the first "workshop conference". This means that except for a few key note lectures, the entire first two days will be dedicated to some of the best EMDR practical workshops given by some of the top presenters in the EMDR community. Since the conference will be limited to 400 participants, it will give each and every one of you the ability to learn in depth several aspects of the growing EMDR knowledge base. One could call this a "pre-conference conference".
Meeting and joining ESTSSAfter several years of growing ties between EMDR Europe and ESTSS, the two organizations decided to have a joint half day in their 2011 conferences. Thus the 3rd day of our conference will have joint activities with ESTSS, and will include a key note about the EMDR project in Indonesia, a round table looking at different therapies for acute trauma, and a series of shorter presentations about EMDR research. You will also be able to participate in the other ESTSS activities offered during that day.
Furthermore one hundred “of you” will have the possibility to buy a voucher for (an additional) half a day at the ESTSS conference (ECOTS).
As usual, our conference will also include several social activities, including the mayor´s reception (included in the conference fee) at the town hall and a dinner party. These activities, as well as a social program for accompanying persons, will be shared by the participants of both the EMDR Europe and ESTSS conferences, another way of networking.
As we have limited space we recommend that you register as soon as possible.
We do hope that you will decide to join us in beautiful Vienna for a conference that promises to be a special combination of learning, meeting colleagues from around Europe and having fun.
Udi Oren (President EMDR Europe) and Eva Muenker-Kramer (President EMDR Association Austria) also in the name of Scientific Committee and Organisational Committee
